WSP Solicitors are delighted to welcome Ruth Appleton to the business. Ruth is joining the Wills, Trusts and Probate (Private Client) Department as a Chartered Legal Executive.

From Gloucester originally, Ruth studied Sociology and Social Policy at Cardiff University. It was from there that she developed a keen interest in the Law and began her training with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) in 2003.

Ruth completed her CILEX training in 2006 and has since worked in a variety of roles across Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire working in Property Law but predominantly within Private Client work.

In 2018 Ruth became a fellow of STEP, the professional association of Lawyers, Accountants and Trustees with the aim of helping families plan for the future effectively. STEP upholds high standards within the profession and is a truly respected organisation.

Ruth will be specialising in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Probate within the department.

In her approach to client work, Ruth is logical and methodical. She focuses on really helping people through what are not always easy or happy times in their lives, providing practical advice and support.

“It is really important to be able to take the difficult work off clients during tough times so they can focus on the things that really matter” says Ruth.

On starting at WSP Solicitors she said “It is a really exciting move, even as we are in very different times, considering the pandemic. The department seem lovely and it feels great to be a part of the team!”.
