The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Client & Compliance Team Leader to support the firm’s Practice Manager in managing compliance, accreditation, and practice management functions. You will assist in the firm’s compliance activities, manage the central compliance team, and ensure that the firm adheres to required regulations and industry standards.
Practice Management Support:
- Assist the Practice Manager with firm-wide compliance and accreditation management including:
- Manage memberships and renewals
- Update and maintain the firm’s policies and procedures.
- Provide support for regulated audits and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Assist with risk management, including handling claims and complaints.
- Support IT, telephony, building maintenance, and statutory requirements.
- Contribute to project delivery and other practice management activities.
- Oversee and manage the Administration Team.
Central Compliance Team Management:
- Line manage and supervise the Client & Compliance Assistants, ensuring their workflow is efficiently managed.
- Ensure the team is adequately trained and proficient in compliance duties.
- Manage client onboarding, ensuring proper documentation is in place.
- Assist in compliance checks such as AML (Anti-Money Laundering) procedures, conflict searches, and source of funds verification.
- Handle the scheduling of deeds and actioning will requests as per firm procedures.
- Follow up on client enquiries and quotes, including calls and emails.
- Support with scanning, copying, and archiving of documents.
- Manage the practice management inbox, prioritising and resolving queries, escalating issues when needed.
Your Experience & Technical Ability
- Strong experience in practice management, compliance, or similar roles.
- Familiarity with legal accreditations and standards (Lexcel, WIQS, CQS).
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident, proactive, team focussed,
- Flexible and adaptable to change whilst providing care and attention to help deliver the best service to our clients.
- IT proficient with experience in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and proficiency in using case management systems.
