The Role
- Bright, enthusiastic and committed legal practitioner to join and contribute to the success and growth of the family department, undertaking a caseload of primarily private law children and domestic abuse work, both under the legal aid contract and for privately paying clients.
- Excellent opportunity to gain skills and experience and have a hand in the development of a long established, forward-thinking and expanding firm.
- The role will also involve active participation in the development of the department and in the firm’s marketing, article drafting, PR, business development, social media and networking activities, as appropriate.
Your Experience & Technical Ability
- Law degree or equivalent qualification and hold a current practising certificate
- Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience advising on family law matters. Consideration will be given to NQ’s if you have previous experience working in a family department of a legal firm.
- Familiar with private law children and domestic abuse work.
- Knowledge of legal aid would be beneficial as would an awareness of other areas of family law.
- Will be required to attend court and meet clients.
- Ability and willingness to learn and manage workload in an efficient and organised manner and meet clients’ demanding requirements.
- Enthusiastic, ambitious and dynamic with excellent communication skills and an ability to get on with people.
- Be a strong team player prepared to build relationships and understand the industry you operate in and the challenges you face.
- Have an excellent balance between technical ability and commercial awareness and be IT proficient.
