Amara McCalla secures training contract with WSP Solicitors
Amara McCalla has been awarded a training contract with WSP Solicitors beginning in May 2022. Amara is currently a Paralegal in the Child Law team at WSP Solicitors, part of the growing Family Law department.
After graduating from Middlesex University with a joint honour’s degree in Law and Criminology, Amara joined the WSP Team in 2021. Since being with WSP Solicitors, she has gained considerable experience in divorce and financial matters. Together with care proceedings, and child law cases. She is currently studying for her LPC, which will be completed, in 2023.
Alongside her work at WSP, Amara also volunteers as an appropriate adult to help safeguard children and vulnerable people who are, suspected of a criminal offence.
During the appointment, Head of Family Law Beth Evans said, “we are delighted to be able to offer a training contract to Amara. In the short while she has been with the business, she has demonstrated not only the skills, but the dedication to warrant taking the next step in her career. The whole department looks forward to continuing to work with her as she progresses.”
Amara is undertaking her whole training contract within Family Law. She has always had aspirations to work in this area. This will allow her to focus on developing her skills and experience in Child Law, Domestic Violence cases and Divorce and Financial matters. Additionally, working across all WSP offices in Stroud and Gloucester.
On receiving the offer, an excited Amara said “I feel a huge sense of real achievement. I would like to thank the Family Law team for welcoming me and helping me train and gain so much experience. I am excited to take the next step in continuing my career with WSP Solicitors.”
