Paralegal Training Programme
We are currently recruiting Paralegals to join our training programme.
Introduction to WSP Solicitors
WSP Solicitors has a strong client base and an excellent reputation for providing a full range of legal services to both private and commercial clients.
As one of our Paralegals, you will have regular and open communication with your training coach who will help you successfully develop your career.
This page will help you understand our training programme, but should you have any questions please contact us at email@example.com
How you will be trained as a Paralegal?
All new employees will benefit from a comprehensive induction designed to provide the necessary skills to get off to a successful start in the role. The induction is supported by a compulsory six-month period to learn how the practice operates administratively. During this period, we will identify your learning style to help plan your training and integrate you into the practice.
Once you have completed the learning period you will be assigned a Paralegal Coach, generally an experienced Paralegal who will integrate you into your team and teach you the core skills to help you become a successful Paralegal.
Some Paralegals may wish to develop their careers further, we accept and encourage applications for supported training through the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or the Council of Licensed Conveyancers. Supported training will be decided based on your suitability which will be assessed throughout your time as a Paralegal. Training may be available, dependent on the needs of the practice, in the following departments:
- Family Law
- Wills, Trusts and Probate
- Residential Property Conveyancing
- Commercial Property Conveyancing
During your training, you will be allocated a training supervisor, generally a Director. You will receive regular coaching and reviews to help prepare you for your career. Throughout your training, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to participate with the firm and the local community at social and networking events as well as participate in the charity work we undertake.
Rewards and Benefits
Paralegals receive a benefits package including:
- Being a part of an exciting, growing business that truly put clients first.
- The opportunity to have a hybrid-style, flexible working pattern, based between the office and home.
- Market-leading, competitive salary based on experience and the value you can bring to the firm. Including an Employee Pension Scheme.
- The ability to develop yourself professionally through internal and external training. We invest in you if you invest in us!
- 24 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
- A variety of employee benefits including; Life Assurance, Opticians Scheme, Staff Discounts, and Christmas Saving Club.
Building a Career – Become a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
We aspire to develop talent, especially from within the Practice. We, therefore, give a preference to internal candidates, who are commonly Paralegals, to become Trainee Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives.
Please view our Trainee Solicitor pages which explain how you can develop your career further within WSP Solicitors.
Chartered Legal Executive
Whilst WSP is a Solicitors Practice, regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority, we also see Chartered Legal Executives as a progressive alternative way of qualifying as a professional Legal Advisor. We, therefore, offer our Paralegals CILEX training once they are successful in and enjoying their roles.
Applying for our Paralegal Training Programme
Before applying it is important you carefully consider the Paralegal Job Analysis and Person Specification below:
We expect you to have a good academic grounding, including strong GCSE and A-Level results, which is complemented by a range of soft skills, such as communication, teamwork and IT. On top of this, you will need to share in the values of the firm and an interest in the Gloucestershire area.
If you would like to apply please send a covering letter and CV to firstname.lastname@example.org. Agency candidates will not be considered for this role.
The Selection Process
You will be invited to interview if your application was successful. Unfortunately, if you have not heard from us within one month of your application then it has been unsuccessful.
The interview will take place in one of our offices to help us identify if you are ready for Paralegal training. During your interview, we encourage you to take time to find out more about the Practice, including viewing the offices and meeting the team.
WSP Solicitors is an Equal Opportunities employer and will only select on merit.
