WSP Solicitors are delighted to welcome Janine Guthrie, Chartered Legal Executive to our Private Client department.
Janine brings a wealth of experience with her from over 12 years of handing Private Client matters for thousands of individuals and families. Areas of work she has undertaken include Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Deputyships, Contentious Deputyships and Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Care fees, including advising on care home contracts, and probate.
In relation to deputyships, Janine assists with applications by family members or others to be appointed as a deputy and also advises deputies with specific legal issues, court applications or general financial management. Her work ranges from obtaining property and financial deputyship orders for adult children in respect of their elderly parent or for a parent applying for health and welfare deputyships when there has been personal injury or clinical negligence resulting in lack of capacity and young people who have special needs.
Janine adopts a sympathetic but practical approach with clients, for what can be an extremely difficult time. She is also a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly and is studying for her final examination for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, specialising in vulnerable clients.
Janine studied Viola at Trinity College of Music in London and worked as a freelance musician prior to deciding on a career in Law.
