Fundraising efforts raise £168.25 to support disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK

Employees at WSP Solicitors have successfully raised £168.25 for BBC Children in Need, after putting on a fancy dress day to support the 2015 Appeal on 13th November. The money raised will go on to support disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

In order to celebrate over 250 years of heritage, the firm decided to organise a “turn back time” themed day to raise money for Children in Need. From top hats, beehives and 1950s dresses, to neon gear, leg warmers and flapper dresses, the firm saw a huge array of different outfits and eras dating right back until cave-woman times. Many of the outfits were also hand-made, including a Mary Quant inspired dress made by our Financial Controller Lynn and a Downton Abbey inspired maid’s uniform from our Wills Administration Assistant Christiane.

As well as dressing up, employees also baked some excellent cakes and cookies, including Pudsey shortbread, which all went down a treat.

BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential. It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraisers and supporters across the UK, who donate their time and money to put on events in support of the Appeal. Whether through cake sales, quizzes or fancy dress like WSP, every penny of the money raised goes towards supporting projects across the UK.
